Warranty Policy

 

RK Computers Limited Warranty

  All RK Computers custom configured notebooks or partial systems carry a lifetime warranty on labor* and a one-year limited warranty on parts from RK Computers. Additional one and two-year warranty's are available and must be purchased at the invoice date of the original sale.

All our custom configured notebooks are built, tested, supported, and warranted by RK Computers. We will not refer you to the manufacture or any other company for notebook support or warranty repairs.

We warranty the product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship during this period. The warranty begins at the invoice date of the original purchase. During this period RK Computers will repair or replace the failed part(s) at our discretion without charge to you.

  Warranty policies vary dependent upon manufacture, model, barebone, or pre-configured system. Specific Manufacture notebook warranty policies can be viewed by following the links below:

 RK Computers makes no other warranties, expressed or implied, including any warranty of fitness for a particular purpose or of merchantability. In no event shall RK Computers be liable for indirect, special or consequential damages such as loss of profits or business opportunities, and in no event shall RK Computers liability exceed the purchase price of the product(s)

  All notebooks purchased as "barebone only" units carry a one-year limited warranty on parts and a one-year warranty on labor* limited to hardware related to the barebone notebook only, the warranty does not cover your hardware/software installations. Additional one, and two-year warranty's are also available and must be purchased at the invoice date of the original sale. Parts installed after the purchase of the system are not covered by RK Computers or the manufacture.

For warranty service or technical support on all Built On Asus and ASmobile notebooks purchased as "barebone only" notebooks you must contact Asus directly ( 888-678–3688 ). RK Computers will only provide warranty service and technical support if the barebone notebook has been purchased with a CPU installed by us.

Pre-Configured Brand systems (Asus Ensemble, MSI Brand systems, Sager, etc.) are not returnable and are warranted-supported directly through the manufacture.

 


Extended Warranties

  Additional one, and two-year warranty's are available for barebone systems, partially configured, and complete systems. This extended warranty must be purchased at the invoice date of the original sale.

The following items are covered under the extended warranty: MOTHERBOARD, KEYBOARD, TOUCHPAD, POINTING DEVICES, AUDIO DEVICES, LCD, OPTICAL DRIVES* ( DVD/CD-RW, DVD Dual, Super-Multi ). Primary battery and A/C adapter, and (optical drives Asus only) are NOT covered. This warranty does not extend the warranty coverage of memory, hard drives, processors, or wireless. Physical damage, misuse of any kind is not covered by the extended warranty. During the warranty period shipping to RK Computers or the manufacture for warranty service is the customers sole responsibility, RK Computers or the manufacture will return the product prepaid freight to the customer. Due to manufacturer and vendor policies notebook extended warranty purchases are non-refundable.

Warranty Conditions

The warranty covers only normal use of the computer and does not cover any hardware, add-on components, or software installed by the end-user.

  This warranty is automatically void for any hardware modification, including tampering, overclocking or damage outside of what is considered normal use, without the prior approval from RK Computers.

  Physically damaged items are not eligible for warranty coverage (unless an accidental damage warranty was purchased), or if the item shows signs of negligence, abuse, or misuse. Disasters from flood, fire, lightning, or electrical surges are not covered.

  If any product returned for service is classified N.T.F. (No Trouble Found) by RK Computers or the Manufacturer, the customer may be assessed return freight and service charges.

  Third party software, virus, or spyware related issues are not covered by this warranty. RK Computers does not support or warranty third party software.

  15 day notebook return policy does not cover shipping and handling charges, special order parts, or software.

  Protection/Back-Up of Stored Data:

It is customer's responsibility to backup the contents of your hard drive, including any data you have stored or software you have installed on the hard drive. It is likely that the contents of your hard drive can be lost or reformatted in the course of service and RK Computers will not be responsible for any damage to or loss of any programs, data or other information stored on any media or any part of any product serviced. IF DURING THE REPAIR OF THE PRODUCT THE CONTENTS OF THE HARD DRIVE ARE ALTERED, DELETED, OR IN ANYWAY MODIFIED, RK COMPUTERS IS NOT RESPONSIBLE WHATSOEVER. THE CUSTOMER'S PRODUCT WILL BE RETURNED AS ORIGINALLY CONFIGURED BY RK COMPUTERS.

  During the warranty period shipping to RK Computers or the manufacture for warranty service is the customers sole responsibility, RK Computers or the manufacture will return the product prepaid freight to the customer.

  If warranty service is performed the warranty still remains in effect from the original date of sale, no warranty extensions will be given for replacement part(s) or service.

 


D.O.A. Policy

  All RKC notebooks are run through a series of tests and "burn-in" to insure they are completely functional when they arrive. In the unlikely event that a system is received that is not operating properly it is called D.O.A. (Defective On Arrival). RK Computers must be notified within 7 days from the ship date of a D.O.A. product. In the event this does occur contact us by phone 1-866-760-4998 or email: support@rkcomputer.net so that we can setup and advance replacement or repair of the product.

  Defective On Arrival parts are defined as the following: CPU - All defective CPU parts will be processed as a Standard RMA return for the CPU. No D.O.A. process will be applied for the CPU parts. Motherboards and Computer Systems - Defective within 7 days of the RK Computers Sales Invoice date. Hard Drives and other Storage Devices - Defective within 7 days of the RK Computers Sales Invoice date.

 


Pixel Policy

  Manufactures "dead pixel" policies vary, and will be repaired/replaced as per that manufactures guidelines. All notebook displays use TFT technology, manufactured according to high industry standards, to guarantee trouble-free personal computing. Nevertheless, your display may have cosmetic imperfections that appear as small bright or dark spots. This is common to all LCD displays and cannot be avoided by any manufacture. These imperfections are caused by one or more defective pixels or sub-pixels. In most cases these pixels or sub-pixels will correct themselves within a short time.

 


Lifetime Technical Support

  All RK Computers custom configured complete and partial systems with an installed CPU carry a lifetime technical support warranty*, this warranty is limited to the hardware/software installed by RK Computers only. Any components installed after the purchase are not covered by this warranty Third party software, virus, or spyware issues are not covered by this warranty.

  All systems purchased as "barebone only" are not covered by this warranty. For technical support on all Built On Asus and ASmobile notebooks purchased as "barebone only" notebooks you must contact Asus directly ( 888-678–3688 ). RK Computers will only provide technical support if the barebone notebook has been purchased with a CPU installed by us.

*One-year limited warranty on parts and a lifetime warranty on labor:

Lifetime labor warranty applies only to repairs that can be performed by RK Computers, any repair that needs to be performed by the manufacture is covered by 1 year parts/1 year labor. We do not extend the manufactures labor warranty. During warranty period (including the extended) shipping to RK Computers or the manufacture for warranty service is the customers sole responsibility, RK Computers or the manufacture will pay return freight to the customer. All warranty repairs are shipped ground freight by a carrier at the discretion of RK Computers or the manufacture. After the expiration of the parts warranty period the customer is responsible for the shipping to and from RK Computers, and the cost of the part(s) required for repair. There will be no labor charges for repairs that can be performed by RK Computers for the life of your notebook. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the notebook and cannot be transferred.

 

This warranty does not apply to or cover MSI brand pre-configured notebooks.

This warranty does not apply to or cover Asus Ensemble pre-configured notebooks.
